Chance - Aether Tattoo Apprentice

I discovered at a young age that art was my way of expressing my imagination and recording my experiences through drawing. This passion led me to spend most of my free time sketching, exploring different styles, and eventually pursuing a college degree in design. Despite my efforts, I still felt unsatisfied with my career path until I met Lance. We crossed paths one day in downtown Raleigh when I asked about his hat. That unexpected moment sparked a conversation about tattoos, which led to my apprenticeship at Aether Tattoo. Since then, I’ve been grateful to learn from experienced artists while growing my skills and finding my own style as a tattoo artist.

So far, I’ve worked on American traditional, fine line, and script tattoos, but I’m also focusing on developing my skills in realism. I find the bold lines of traditional styles to be timeless, while fine line and script allow for a more delicate, detailed approach. Moving forward, I’m excited to dive into realism, learning how to capture the intricate details and shading that bring a tattoo to life.

I’m passionate about creating custom designs that are truly one-of-a-kind, tailored to each client’s vision. I believe that every tattoo tells a story, whether it’s a symbolic piece, a name in elegant script, or a detailed black & grey design. I enjoy working closely with clients, collaborating on ideas, and adjusting designs until they feel just right.

I take pride in my attention to detail, whether I’m working on a classic design or a more modern, intricate piece. I believe that patience and a willingness to learn are key to growth as a tattoo artist, especially during the apprenticeship phase. I’m constantly studying new techniques, from linework to shading, so that I can eventually offer a wide range of styles and deliver the best results for my clients.

Outside of tattooing, I’m a huge fan of disc golf and often spend my weekends on the course. I also love spending quality time with family and friends, as it keeps me grounded and inspired. I believe that the best art comes from a place of balance—taking the time to relax and recharge allows me to bring fresh ideas and creativity to my work at Aether Tattoo.
