Cameron - Aether Tattoo Apprentice

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember and always had a natural talent for it. After years of trying to figure out my path—switching colleges and majors multiple times—I eventually found my way to art school and earned my degree. But like many artists, I decided to get some good use out of my degree by becoming... a bartender. That’s where I met Lance, who offered me an apprenticeship at Aether Tattoo. I jumped at the chance and have since begun my career as a tattoo artist.

I haven’t been tattooing for long, but I’ve picked it up quickly. I’m constantly learning new styles and techniques. So far, I’ve become proficient in fine line tattoos, black & grey, and American traditional styles. My goal is to master multiple styles so I can handle any tattoo that comes through the door. I especially enjoy creating bold, beautiful, simple, and readable tattoos.

I’m comfortable creating custom designs or working from references provided by clients. When designing a tattoo, I often check in with the client throughout the process to ensure their ideas are being brought to life. I also like to put clients at ease by joking that it’s my first tattoo, and it’s probably going to hurt a lot.

Outside of tattooing, I love drawing with pen, pencil, or creating digital art with a focus on symmetry and repetition, similar to mandalas. I draw inspiration from psychedelics or from within—I close my eyes, and shapes and forms emerge from the darkness.

I’m a perfectionist and a bit OCD, so I tend to take my time with each piece, pouring over every minute detail to ensure I'm giving my client the best outcome.

I offer both appointments and walk-ins at Aether Tattoo on Hillsborough Street. You can also find me participating in monthly tattoo events, including TEETS x Aether in downtown Raleigh.
